Trike and Bike

motorcycle My hobbies have varied over the years, sometimes dictated by where I was living at the time. While in Europe, I enjoyed biking through the countryside in the summer and skiing the Alps in the winter. While in Key West, I went scuba-diving, boating and parasailing. Traveling is great, whether by plane, train, or car, and of course, motorcycles! So, for now I will focus on my hobby of motorcycling.

I have always loved the feeling of freedom you experience when riding down a highway, wind in your face, and feeling as close to flying as possible while still touching the road beneath you. I have been on motorcycles most of my life. In my younger years I was always a passenger on the back with someone else in control. I had fun experiences, like riding on the beach with the roar of engines ahead and behind you as waves crash in only inches from your tires, during Daytona Beach Bike Week, and some not so fun, like riding on a four lane highway up the coast from San Francisco after attending a play on a cold, damp night with a sea of headlights enveloping you from behind. The experiences, however, even when you are left shivering, is always memorable with an amusing story to tell.

I now, however, enjoy riding my own Harley Davidson Freewheeler. I love having my own ride and not depending on someone else. I have done rides with groups of riders, like to Virginia City, but I have the best time just riding with my husband, who has a HD Fatboy (he got it because Arnold Schwarzenegger rode one in the movie, "The Terminator", go figure!) Whether I ride alone, or with my husband, most of my rides are on the beautiful roadways in Central Oregon. It's an exciting hobby, except for the days that forest fire smoke fills the air, but we are in Central Oregon, so, what can you do.
